The single crochet (sc) is probably the easiest stitch to master and one of the most commonly used crochet stitches.
It's a fairly short stitch resulting in a dense and sturdy fabric.

Chain 10 + 1 = 11 Chains
Round 1: sc into 2nd ch from hook and into each chain across. (10 sts)
Round 2: ch 1 (does not count as 1 sc), sc into the first stitch and each stitch across. (10 sts)
Repeat Round 2 until your project or swatch is as long as you want it to be!
