I needed that!

Hello lovelies!
I do hope you're all well?
I've taken a week off from work and have made a quick visit home to see my family. It's been a much needed trip and something I have been so desperate do!
It's been amazing being at home, getting to spend a little time with my family. Hanging out with Mum and Dad and getting to see little Poppy! It's been quite some time since my last visit....long overdue!
During my quick trip it also happened to be my Birthday. It was lovely to spend the day with my family. I was showered with birthday cards and received some special gifts.

Amongst my gifts were Phillip Pullmans new book, which I just can not wait to get stuck into. A journal (from my sister), designed specifically for bloggers (that's going to come in useful!) and my favourite Marks and Sparks cherry liquor chocolates! YUMMY!!!

We spent my Birthday in Bath, walking around the city and enjoying the beautiful Autumny weather. In the evening we returned home for a yummy Chinese take-away where my brother and his boyfriend popped by to join us for dinner. It was great to have the whole family together, something that doesn't happen often, but I hope we can do again sometime real soon.

Sunday morning (the day after my Birthday), Dad, my sister and I went to Westonbirt arboretum to enjoy the sunshine and take Poppy for a nice long walk

The weather was glorious and the Arboretum was picture perfect, especially at this time of the year.

Poppy had a lovely walk, meeting lots of doggy friends and running through the fallen leaves.
It was so nice to be out with her, seeing her so happy and settled with my parents has been so special.
I had been a little worried that she wouldn't remember me as it had been a long time since I last saw her. I shouldn't have been concerned as she went absolutely bonkers when I walked through the door. Showering me with kisses and having a hyper half an hour of running around the house with excitement.
I love her so much, but she's really having the best life with my parents, I don't regret the decision to give her up at all. She's living a wonderful life and I still get to be involved with her!

My beautiful sister is also a favourite of Poppy's. Poppy doesn't leave her side when she's visiting my parents.
Look how happy Poppy looks with my sister, highlighted by the glorious orange and reds from the beautiful trees in the background.

Gosh!! It was good to get out in the sunshine and get some fresh air. I miss the country air from where my parents live. It kind of always smells like farms (horse and cow poop, you know the deal) but it's home and it makes me feel alive!!!

You know what else I miss.....Mums roast dinners!!
Of course she had been busy whilst we'd been out walking Poppy and upon our return the house was filled with the smell of home cooked deliciousness!
Look at that!!!!!

It's been an amazing few days and a much needed time with my family. You know that feeling, when you just need to be at home. I needed that!

Now off to London for a couple of days before heading back to Germany. I'll be sure to take a few pictures and update you over the next days.
Until then....
