The start over

Hello lovelies,
Gosh it"s been a while!!!
Weeks have turned into months and months have gone zooming by. The whole time I've been thinking "I have to get back into my blogging". I tried upon occasion to come back, hence the occasional random post from me, but it never really worked out.

Truth is though I just haven't been focused enough or in the right frame of mind.
It's been a real transition year, I've been discovering myself and learning things about my emotions and personality. After a rollercoaster of ups and downs I feel like over the last weeks I've emerged on the other side and I feel ready again. Ready to do things and ambitious, really ambitious, which is exciting me beyond belief.

I made a little video explaining all that has been going on and want you to really understand that I'm ok, not just ok, but good. Dennis also, he"s doing great and has also found his drive, focus and happiness...we are both doing well is the bottom line.

As mentioned in the video, I have some exciting things lined up for the next weeks, I'm not putting too much pressure on myself though and trying to let things happen as naturally as possible.
Those of you that follow me on Instagram would have seen I've been having a good play around with some nice cheery yarns and have been putting my hand at some rather sunny projects.

I've not only sorted through the trash that had been stored up in my head, but also blitzed the apartment. The craft room is stocked up with lots of scrummy yarns, positively bursting to be played with!

As mentioned in the video I'll  slowly be changing and updating things around here. Changing the name on the blog and on social media. I'll be trying to keep everything very simple, changing things from "Boys and Bunting" to "Boy and bunting" (minus the S). If there are links or information that you can"t find, just send me a message or an email (matt@boyandbunting.com) and I'll get right back to you with answers.

I'm really excited about this and I'm looking forward to the next weeks, getting really stuck into my blogging work.
Finally I want say a BIG thank you to you all, for sticking by Dennis and I. Your continued support and encouragement is truly special and I can not thank you enough. I think the world of you all!

Speak soon lovelies!

  4. I am so sorry that you and Dennis are no longer together although if this is the path which works for you and Dennis so be it!! I have always believed that G-d has a plan for all of us and even though we may not know nor understand it at the moment, later down the road you will understand the whys and His message!! Without a doubt do not put any pressure on yourself, even though I have only followed you for about a year and 1/2 I am not going anywhere as long as you are still here and this is what you want to do. One day at a time and if that seems to be too much some days take a step back and let's do one hour, one minute or one second at a time. Recreating one's life is like learning how to cook - sometimes you have to redo that dish a couple of times before you create perfection!!!! Thanks for sharing with us and know we are here for you!!!!! Peace and Love, Cindy F.

  5. I am very sorry you've gone through such a difficult life transition but happy to see you have struggled through the dark days and emerged with more determination to create your own happiness. It will be good to hear your creative voice again as you have so much talent that was being sidelined in many ways. Now the focus will be you and your immense flair for creating beautiful crafts. Best wishes, Matt.

    1. Thanks Mary Anne! It's been a tricky year, but I can honestly say that Dennis and I have both grown from it. At times I felt defeated, but now I see that we are both stronger and everything has worked out. Thanks once again for taking the time to leave message, I appreciate that more than you know! x

  6. Hi Matt, in a way it was sad to hear your news as it has been lovely sharing crafty exploits with you and Dennis. However, the most important thing is that you are both as happy as you can be and moving forward with your lives in positive way. It sounds like you both have great and exciting plans and I wish you both the best always. Crafting and colour are so therapeutic. Take care both of you and when you speak to Dennis, please send him my good wishes for his brilliant career choice, I am certain he will make a wonderful nurse. Love to you both. Elaine xx

    1. It was a tricky post to put up! As mentioned though we are both in a great place! He"s working so hard now with his studying that it was near impossible for him to have time for the blog. Maybe he pops by from time to time when he has a moment. In the mean time though, I will definitely make sure to pass along your greetings x

  8. Hi Matt .. I've followed your blog for a couple of years now and did notice you had gone off the boil a little and wondered why. I re-visited today, the first time for a few months because I always love the splash of colour just looking at your blog. I'm really sorry to hear about you and Dennis .. it takes a long time to get over (not that you really get over, you just learn to live and move on) such a breakup but I do genuinely believe its true that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Huge hugs for getting through everything and for deciding on a career change too, its going to be great! xx

  9. Good Morning from Wyoming! I am so excited to find your blog again!! For years I followed you... although I may never have made a comment... then got s new computer and lost all my lovely saved things.. which included you! So I’ve spent quite a bit of time looking back over your posts... and of course watched your video. Even though it contained your very heartbreaking news... I commend you for being so open with your audience and just being able to be so very vulnerable. Because you can talk about it so candidly I can see you have moved along and are ready to accept new adventures in your path! Having had a run in theater myself ( a stint as a piece of flatware in Beauty and the Beast) I hope you’ll continue while you have your youth and health! As for your handwork... you are full of talent and whimsical ideas... never stop creating!! I wish I could see you perform before you leave Tarzan...but I don’t think that’s in the works... perhaps I’ll catch your next show! Hugs!!

  10. Hi, Matt,

It's been awhile since I've been able to catch up on my blog reading, but I've often thought of you and Dennis -- in fact, you helped me learn to knit by suggesting some books for me way back in one of your "In Bed With . . ." videos! I've been knitting away ever since and think of you both whenever I use my books!

I'm so sorry to hear that you've had such a rough year. Life seems to have its twists and turns, but through it all, like Cindy above says, God certainly does have a wonderful plan for you (and Dennis, too! Hi, Dennis!) and even the difficult times turn out to be times of growth and learning about ourselves and what we are capable of getting through.

Thank you for sharing your life with us, and thanks for opening doors to new worlds with your crafts and tips. We readers love you. :)

    - Becky
